SMG Productions partnered with the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and community collaborators on Your Ernestina Morrissey, a storytelling initiative dedicated to preserving and sharing the cultural history surrounding the Schooner Ernestina-Morrissey. The project brings together personal stories, community memories, and historical perspectives to explore the vessel’s significance as a living connection to the people and communities of the Southcoast.

A central focus of the project is the Ernestina-Morrissey’s connection to the Cape Verdean diaspora and the generations of Cape Verdeans who established roots in New Bedford and the surrounding region.
